The patriarch of the Robertson family passes away after Alzheimer's diagnosis

Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the Robertson family featured in 'Duck Dynasty,' has died at 79.
The Robertson family announced on social media that Phil Robertson had passed away on May 25. In December 2024 the family announced that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and his health continued to decline over the past few months.
"We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord," Korie Robertson's Instagram post reads. "He reminded us often of the words of Paul, 'You do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
"He reminds me of people in the Bible," Sadie Robertson Huff, one of Phil Robertson's granddaughters, said in an Instagram post. "Not many lived with the end goal in mind as much as he did, and not many chose to spend their lives telling everyone they encountered like he did. He really believed it, and I know that he is alive in Christ fully today!"
Phil Robertson founded Duck Commander in 1972, selling duck calls, which became a family business. His family was featured in the reality series Duck Dynasty from 2012 to 2017. Phil Robertson also used his public platform to share his faith with others.
