On January 17, the world was introduced to a new worship supergroup: Sons of Sunday, featuring Steven Furtick (Elevation Church), Brandon Lake (Elevation Worship, Maverick City Music, Bethel Music), Chandler Moore (Maverick City Music, Elevation Worship, Bethel Music), Chris Brown (Elevation Worship), Leeland Mooring (LEELAND), and Pat Barrett (Housefires).
Wasting no time, the band has already dropped four singles in less than three months. But while their music is thriving, their marriages?
Well, let's just say their wives have a few thoughts.
NewReleaseToday sat down with Holly Furtick, Brittany Lake, Hannah Poole Moore, Beth Brown, Amanda Mooring, and Meg Barrett for an honest discussion about balancing marriage, ministry, and the never-ending stream of "just one more" side projects.
"We love and support our husbands' ministries," said Brittany Lake. "We've been there through every album, every late-night writing session, every yet another live recording. But at some point, you start asking–do we need another worship band?"
Amanda Mooring nodded. "It's not that we don't love being at home seven days a week while they're out touring and writing songs in six different bands. It's just that... actually, no, that's exactly it."
Enter Daughters of Monday Through Thursday–a revolution in rest.
Unlike their husbands, Daughters Of Monday Through Thursday won't be recording, touring, or flooding your social media feed with an endless supply of "look what we're writing now."
"Oh no, there will be no music," confirmed Meg Barrett. "This is about reclaiming balance in our lives. The moment Sunday is over, the Daughters ministry begins."
Instead of albums, they're focusing on self-care. Their weekly setlist? Spa days, noise-canceling headphones, and phones left in the car (preferably on silent and in another time zone).
Needless to say, Sons of Sunday may be these guys' final band--if they know what's good for them.
Daughters of Monday Through Thursday has scheduled exactly one media appearance. They'll be the first guest artists on CeCe Winans' new project–also announced today–titled The CeCe Whinings Podcast. The topic? Husbands and their never-ending projects.
