Brandon Heath got to watch his friend, NASA Astronaut Terry Virts, blast off as part of the Expedition 42 Soyuz spacecraft launch to the International Space Station. Brandon was one of the astronaut's 10 handpicked guests for the November 24th launch in Kazakhstan, Russia. Brandon said it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. While on base, Brandon performed a special "living room" concert for his astro-buddy and his fellow crewmate and their families.
2. Speaking of Brandon Heath, he sang with
Josh Wilson this week. Josh wasn't entirely confident with the lyrics, so he did what any good musician would do: he wrote a "cheat sheet" on the neck of his guitar in pencil!

Jonny Diaz is home for the holidays in his parents' house, and of course, when you're home, memories abound. Jonny found the receipt for his first guitar, a $395 Ibanez acoustic guitar. And for those of you wondering at home, it was purchased on December 14th, 1998.
4. NBC's The Sing Off a cappella competition had a one-night special last night that featured two Christian groups--the Gospel/R&B sounds from the "church girls" of
Traces, and the prison ministry singers in Nashville-based
Timothy's Gift. Neither band won the competition, but they definitely turned lots of heads and caught lots of ears.

Carrie Underwood has two singles on the Top 10 Hot Christian Songs. Her song "Something In The Water" has occupied the top of the chart for 10 weeks, since debuting. And now her Christmastime duet with
Michael W. Smith, "All Is Well," has gone from No. 29 its first week on the charts to No. 6 this week.
6. There was only one new entry on the Billboard Christian Albums chart this week, and it was from indie band
Cloverton, for their Christmas EP,
We Sing Joy. It debuted at No. 17 on the chart.
7. When you're a Christian music fan, sometimes you'll see your favorite artists everywhere… or at least you think you do. A fan of
House of Heroes thinks she saw House of Heroes frontman Tim Skipper in an ad for Tractor Supply. He probably can rock the Carhartts, but didn't in this case.
8. Happy fourth birthday to
Natalie Grant's daughter, Sadie Rose. Natalie described her as a beautiful and sassy fireball, who's "everything I never knew I needed." But God knew.
