Nominations are in for the 57th Grammy Awards, featuring nods to artists such as for KING & COUNTRY and Lecrae.
Nominees in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album were Francesca Battistelli's If We're Honest, for KING & COUNTRY's Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong., Natalie Grant's Hurricane, MercyMe's Welcome to the New and Royal Tailor's Royal Tailor. Battistelli and MercyMe also garnered nominations in the Best Contemporary Christian Performance/Song category, alongside Lecrae, Needtobreathe and Crowder.
In an official Word Records press release, for KING & COUNTRY said of their nominations "We remember when our debut album was about to release, someone asked us what our hopes and dreams were. We first wanted people to be impacted by the hope of music but also had the distant dream of being nominated for one of music's most prestigious honors. Today, three years onward, to be nominated for two GRAMMYs by a group of people we call friends is truly a gift."
Reach Records hip hop juggernaut Lecrae also landed the special distinction of being nominated not only in the Contemporary Christian Song category, but also in the mainstream Best Rap Performance category alongside artists like Eminem and Drake. Lecrae also has the distinction of being featured on Erica Campbell's song "Help," nominated in the Gospel Performance/Song category.
