Today we mourn the loss of famous evangelist Ravi Zacharias. It was announced that Ravi passed away this morning at age 74. After a two month battle with cancer, Ravi is now home in the presence of our Savior. Many Christian artists and speakers have responded on social media to the passing of this hero.
"It's hard to put into words how much heaven gained today!" Jeremy Camp posted on social media. "Our family has been reading through 1 Peter together and chapter 3:8 says, 'Let humility describe who you are, as you dearly love one another.' For all the many great things that Ravi could be remembered for, his humility and love stands above it all. You will be missed Ravi, but we will see you again!"
"Ravi was faithful until the end. While we mourn his passing, and pray for sweet Margie, and their dear family, we know that all of heaven rejoices, and that an entire generation is ready to pick up the torch as a result of his legacy." Christian speaker Nick Hall shared.
"Ravi... you will be missed my friend. What an extraordinary life you have had. Thank you!!!! See you on the other side." Michael W. Smith posted.
"He was so kind, compassionate, loving, brilliant, humble, passionate and gracious. He ran his race with courage, dignity and strength --and finished his course. He is now home." Christian speaker and A21 advocate Christine Caine wrote.
"I am so grateful for who Ravi was and what he did with his days on earth." Brett Younker of Passion Music shared. "His voice will be missed, but I pray God would raise up an army of men and woman who love the truth and want to proclaim it in their day. We are better because of Ravi's life. Well done good and faithful servant."
In lieu of flowers, Ravi's wife Margie and the Zacharias family have asked a gift be made to Ravi's ministry RZIM to help fund their ongoing work.
