There was a time when WhiteHeart was arguably second only to the legendary Petra in terms of popularity in Christian rock circles. It's been over 20 years since they ended their run as an active band, but many fans of classic Christian rock remember them fondly.
1995 was a year of transition for the band. With a new label, the band released Inside, with a stark change in sound and musical direction. One of the album's softer cuts, "Even The Hardest Heart" would go on to be a number 1 single for the band. But, even many of the band's longtime fans may be surprised to learn that the version featured on the album and radio wasn't intended to be the original version - what was featured on the album and became a subsequent hit was an "unplugged" version of the song, and the full band had actually tracked a version in the studio. But aside from a very rare cassette single, that version never saw the light of day. Until now!
After years of fans asking, the band has finally made the "Full Band" version of the song available for the first time ever in a digital format, some 25 years after the album it was supposed to be on released. Fans may note the fuller and more produced sound, and extended rocking guitar finale, not to mention a sound straight out of the mid-90's it was recorded in.
