This morning at around 1:00 AM a devastating tornado hit the central Tennessee/Nashville area, home to many in the Christian music industry. According to NBC News, 22 people were killed, and 50,000 households and businesses were left without power in this developing story.
Christian artists and bands in the area have been marking themselves safe, and are asking their fans to pray for their city.
"Many of us were up through the night listening to sirens, searching for information on what was taking place around us, and checking in with loved ones around Nashville." Joel and Luke of for KING & COUNTRY posted. "By God's grace, we're all unharmed, but the same cannot be said for our city- which has taken quite a hit. Be praying for our community as it's been shocking to see all the devastation this morning."
"The level of destruction from this morning's tornado is almost unreal," shared DREAM Records' recording artist, Joel Vaughn. "It's been a very long morning and there is so much work to do for our first responders. Pray for the families affected. We had several people who had their homes collapsed on them seek shelter at our church this morning and it was just heartbreaking. There are so many ways you can help out if you can but definitely keep Nashville, Hermitage, Mount Juliet and all the other cities affected in your prayers."
We Are Messengers, Dan Bremnes, Cade Thompson, Tenth Avenue North, The Young Escape, and many others have all shared that they're safe.
We ask for your prayers for all those affected by this horrible tornado that has altered the lives of so many families today.
