Last month, Lecrae announced his new album, Anomaly, via Instagram, so it was only fitting he announced an updated release date on the social media outlet.
Yesterday, the Reach Records rapper posted an image that was similar to his album announcement, with a handwritten note that announced a new release date of Sept. 9. Editing his earlier note, it read, "My name is Lecrae and my new album, Anomaly, really drops September 9th, 2014."
In the image's caption, Lecrae wrote, "The system didn't plan for this."
One of Christian music's premiere rappers, Lecrae's seventh album comes with much anticipation. Fans flooded Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to voice their reactions to the delay, but also to debate whether or not the "giant Sharpie" in the photo is real.
The first single from Anomaly, "Nuthin'," recently released, which will hopefully tide fans over, as well as the recent revelation that
Kari Jobe would be featured on the new album.
Listen to "Nuthin'" here.
