On-air host, Brant Hanson, has announced that Monday, July 7th will be his last day hosting his popular afternoon show on Air1 Radio Network after building his show for three years.
He recently addressed his friends on his Facebook account saying, "My last show on AIR1 will be Monday. I appreciate the station letting me say goodbye on the air. After that, I don't know what's next, job-wise. Through Monday, I will be around here on this page. THANK YOU for your kindness and encouragement over the last three years. This show was special. You made it so. Obviously, I don't want to lose contact with you. There are many wonderful people who work at AIR1, and I will miss them dearly. I've written before, recently, that it's been an absolute honor being part of your life. I meant it."
He later clarified that he resigned from the station but did not give any further information. On his personal site,
BrantHansen.com, he adds, "I'm heartbroken over the end of the show. I've counted every day as an honor to be able to have a platform like that. People listen to Christian music radio for a number of reasons, and people are all over the map in their beliefs about, and maturity in, Christ. To be able to talk to so many about Jesus, and to be ourselves in the process, was a beautiful thing. Sometimes, when people seem to disappear from media, especially "Christian media", we suspect the worst, like a moral scandal. Please know there's nothing like that, here. Of course, I'm still a walking moral scandal -- we all are -- but no, there's no Big Story like that, here. It was a very painful decision I made. I know that doesn't answer the question, but it's about all I want to say."
Brant was often on the air with Sherri, and he says what's next for her is also "up in the air."
Brant is certainly not fading away, citing a new book coming out with publisher Thomas Nelson in Spring 2015.
Here is Brant's
I Am Second episode which really dives into his personal testimony.
We wish Brant nothing the best on the next leg of his journey and faith story and thank him for spreading Christian music and God's positive love to millions through the Air1 Radio Network.
