GRAMMY®-nominated, Platinum®-selling Newsboys brought their blockbuster "Love Riot Tour" to a capacity audience at Nashville's Curb Event Center Friday night, with the band's hometown concert also serving as a benefit for the Guardian for Heroes Foundation. Established by late U.S. Navy SEAL and "American Sniper" Chris Kyle, the organization assists combat veterans transitioning to post-military life.
During the evening, Guardian for Heroes' Jeff Kyle, brother of Chris Kyle, spoke about the foundation's mission and purpose. In addition, BeastMode for the Brave endurance athlete George Chmiel joined Kyle onstage to share about his run across America to pay homage to veterans and drive awareness of the serious issues they face upon returning home from the battlefield. Chmiel is currently on track to run more than 3,000 miles in 60 days.
Sponsored by ChildFund (childfund.org) and IF 7:14, Newsboys' Nashville "Love Riot Tour" stop also featured Dove Award-winners The Afters and GRAMMY®-nominated singer/songwriter Ryan Stevenson, as well as special guest hip/hop recording artist Graham Saber. The tour, which kicked-off in September, is slated to hit nearly 50 cities across the country before concluding December 11 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Guardian for Heroes Foundation humbly and proudly carries the torch of "American Sniper" Chris Kyle, championing the cause to restore hope, renew spirits, and replenish energy for combat veterans transitioning to post-military life. The organization provides free, in-home fitness equipment, facilitation of donated health club memberships, individualized programs, personal training and life coaching to in-need veterans with disabilities, Gold Star families and those suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) from combat deployment.
BeastMode for the Brave is the community outreach program for the Guardian for Heroes Foundation. Created by Chris Kyle and U.S. Navy veteran Talon Smith (Stars Earn Stripes), BeastMode for the Brave raises awareness and support for the needs of veterans returning home from the battlefield, including the epidemic of post-combat suicide. More than 20 veterans take their lives each day.
