Switchfoot and Relient K have announced a joint fall tour, called the Looking For America Tour. The tour will be in support of Switchfoot's upcoming album Where The Light Shines Through (due out July 8) and Relient K's Air For Free (due out July 22).
Presale tickets went on sale to Switchfoot's mailing list the morning of May 17, with all tickets and VIP upgrade options available through switchfoot.com. Full details about the tour and presale options are available in this post: http://switchfoot.com/fall-tour-w-relient-k/. This will be the first time the two alternative rock mainstays have toured together in several years, causing explosive fan excitement.
The only people more excited for the tour than the fans are the band members themselves. Lead singers Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) and Matthew Thiessen (Relient K) shared their excitement through a tongue-in-cheek twitter exchange. "You ready to do this?" Foreman tweeted to Thiessen, who replied "I'm thinking September." You can watch the special tour announcement the bands filmed below.
The tour announcement is the culmination of an exciting month for Switchfoot, who unveiled all the details of Where The Light Shines Through last week. The band has also announced a special album release show to take place on July 5 aboard the largest charter yacht in California. More details and tickets are available here. You can follow both Switchfoot and Relient K on their facebook pages for continued updates about both the tour and the releases of Where The Light Shines Through and Air For Free.
