HeeSun Lee has debuted a new music video for the track "Black Out." The new cover song precedes the album Beauty For Ashes, due out later this month. You can watch the video below.
"'Black Out' is just letting people know that I'm back! I'm coming hard and I'm not letting anything stop me," HeeSun shares of the hard-hitting new track. The song is just a hint of what's to come with upcoming album Beauty For Ashes, a deeply personal release for the lyricist. "It really focuses on the many transitions that have gone on in my life recently, and how I'm dealing with them all," HeeSun explains. "I think it's a universal topic to discuss; everyone has changes that they go through in life that can either make them or break them. I'm showing the world, through my lyrics, that the changes that went on in my life have MADE me into a stronger, more independent woman, and a more dependent Christian."
These are all topics HeeSun Lee is uniquely qualified to rap about as both an artist and a mother. "Sometimes I'll look at my own life and wonder how I'm doing it all: motherhood with 2 children, being a wife, being an independent artist, and maintaining my Christian life all at once," HeeSun admits, "but this album explains it all. Its a growth and maturing stage in my life right now, showing people that its possible to conquer all of our challenges with God leading the way. I've taken the worst of me along in the process and created something beautiful."
