Christian musician and American Idol alum Scott MacIntyre has announced that he and his wife Christina are expecting their first child.
The announcement came through a special feature by celebrity watch publication People, who shared that the baby is due in October. The MacIntyres do not yet know the child's gender, but already have a name chosen.
This announcement comes less than a year following Scott MacIntyre's second kidney transplant. Having previously undergone kidney failure and a transplant eight years ago at the age of 22, last year Scott found himself again in need of a transplant-- and the recipient of a generous anonymous donation. Scott anticipates the birth of his child as another installment of his miraculous story, sharing with People "It was not possible for us to have a baby while I was in kidney failure, so my donor not only gave me the gift of life but also allowed us to create a new life."
Scott MacIntyre, who was born blind and first introduced his story to the world on Season 8 of American Idol, has been further sharing his story through his music and his 2 Blind Men podcast. You can keep up with his musical ventures and congratulate him on news of the coming addition to his family on his facebook page.
