Nashville residents awoke to canceled schools and a whole bunch of snow on the ground.
According to The Tennesseean newspaper, the first real snow event of the season was a doozy--good enough to be Middle Tennessee's biggest snowstorm in 13 years.
The newspaper said that a series of unique weather events--including the rare "thundersnow"--brought the storm into town earlier and more foreceful than expected.
With 7 to 8 inches of snow on the ground, the city essentially shut down, leaving artists at home to play in the snow.
We compiled some of the images and videos artists shared of their snow day. Check them out.
