Lecrae surprised fans Thursday night as he released an unexpected, but highly anticipated new mixtape,
Church Clothes 3 on
Apple Music and
iTunes.
"I hear some requests for #CC3," Lecrae wrote in his simple Facebook announcement. "Now on Apple Music."
More than just a small contribution, the 10-track project features collaborations with KB, Propaganda, John Givez, JGivens, Jackie Hill Perry and N'Dambi.
The official album description from iTunes reads:
Throw out everything you thought you knew about Christian Rap. Lecrae did that years ago when he first started making hot tracks better suited for the block than the pew. His eighth album Church Clothes 3 continues this journey. Lecrae puts in work--going bar-for-bar with California spitter E-40 on "Can't Do You," answering critics on "It Is What It Is," and enjoying success on "Cruising." The first two tracks "Freedom" and "Gangland" show an influence of Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly--deep thoughts about social change wrapped in imaginative, atmospheric production. Church Clothes 3 shows you don't have to be a Sunday service regular to love Lecrae.
