Switchfoot is offering a limited free download of a song titled "New Year's Day" in response to current world events and the climate of fear and doubt. You can download it by visiting this page.
The band has shared in social media posts "We want this song to offer you hope in 2015 and into the new year ahead of us." The song is available for a 48 hour time window only.
Jon Foreman has also written a new editorial for Huffington Post, where he is an occasional contributor. His most recent piece, titled What ISIS Wants, responds to events in Paris in particular and the fears that might be on the hearts of those watching the news. With his signature redemptive rhetoric, Foreman concludes with the thought "I believe in a God of love, life, creativity, and joy. I believe in a God who made all humans equally valuable... May we rise up and live out the beautiful lives that ISIS wants to destroy." You can read the whole article here.
