Judah Ben has been involved with urban youth since his family moved to Birmingham, Alabama in the early '90s. His vision for urban ministry was birthed while working on his undergraduate degree at Wheaton College. For over two years he met weekly with youth incarcerated in the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago. Upon graduating in 2000, he returned home to teach at Restoration Academy, an urban Christian School in Fairfield, Alabama seeking to rescue youth from the lure of the streets. The school has since become a place where strong academics, competitive athletics, and a caring faculty empower students to graduate from high school, attend college, and begin a life of hope and promise. Judah Ben earned a Master's Degree at Covenant College and is now an administrator at Restoration Academy. He and his wife and four children make their home in the neighborhood.
