With a cold sweat and a heart beating like an African drum in the midst of darkened minds, the plastic bearers of so called music becomes a new carpet. Filled with desperation and melancholic enthusiasm, it is starting to clear up within the barriers in which he has been wandering for so long. With every hit on the floor, the shackles are loosening, and the pitch black clouds are starting to break up. Finally the entrance to the mind is opening. With every strength within his grasp, he slowly sees the only truth that has been hidden for him all this time. He can finally step over the broken cd's that had him caught in the fishermen's net of forced publications. The mist within his pupils is fading and finally he can see what he has been missing all this time... His Holy Eyes are showing him what his demon is, MUSIC IS EVIL!
For over a decade, Holy Eyes has been the leading hip hop group in the Dutch holy hip hop scene. Performing with gospel as well as secular artists they have been able to tell what is on their mind. Expanding their horizons they have been privileged to tell their thoughts in different cities in different countries. Visiting people in their minds through the music, they dropped by in bars, homes, coffee shops and venues. Giving the audience the opportunity to refuel with hip hop that hasn't been recopied, according to the standards of present music. With their different influences and backgrounds, they have been able to set out a path that everyone should know of. Producing and writing their own material with truly set out themes, Holy Eyes tries to capture a thought and molds that into the only thing it can be: A fierce experience of mind-blowing words and phrases, with music that embarks from every single tone to an extravaganza. Good enough that even your next door rocker can enjoy it.
With the mission to enforce a standoff with every kind of self-sustaining copy-cat actions, Holy Eyes is beginning the revolution of independent listening sensations. No more forced music by the industry. If Holy Eyes can choose what their choice of music is, than so can you!
Holy Eyes is an indie/alternative hip hop group with a good vision on how they would like to see the industry nowadays. Influenced by so much different kinds of music, they are able to create the exact vibe for each song. No track is the same, and is thought out to the extreme. Every single aspect has a meaning and is place there on purpose. Because Holy Eyes doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of the popular main urban artists, they really try to communicate through their hip hop. Doing so they are gaining the respect of listeners all over the world because of the mindset they try to uphold.
Holy Eyes was born in the year 1995 under the name Heilig IJs. After releasing their first album [Vertaalslag] in the year 1997, they became the founders for the Christian hip hop in the Netherlands. With the opportunity to be distributed throughout the Netherlands by GMI the name exploded immediately. After that Holy Eyes kept on releasing cd's with several labels and distributors. In the year 2002 Holy Eyes became part of the She'erith Nation, a collaboration of different musicians, beat creators and rappers/singers. With the release of the first album of the She'erith nation , holy Eyes was given the opportunity to explore more what they individually wanted with their music. After a break up within the group, new enforcements were needed and got filled with a new DJ and MC/beat creator. The tour in 2006 with Listener was the first appearance that was made with TG. Knobs needed to be twisted, bolts tightened and the work was done. The E.P. "Music is Evil" was released on tour through the US on the 22nd of April 2007. This independent work of art is the first part of a trilogy that Holy Eyes will be releasing.
