aleixa... pronounced \"ah-LEE-kah.\" Always spelled with a lowercase A, grammr rules be damned! ;) Not to be confused with Alexia, or Alexis. They made two albums and a few cover songs under this band name. The founder, Kevin 131, started this project under the name Sorrow of Seven. According to some old info from the now-deceased official aleixa web site, he changed the name because he noticed that there were too many bands with \"seven\" in their name.
There were a few demo tapes released under the Sorrow of Seven name. Kevin made some of those songs available for download for a short time, on the aleixa web site. One of the more interesting songs is a cover of Shirley Temple\'s \"On The Good Ship Lollipop.\" A really fun cover song.
Aleixa, formerly known as Sorrow of Seven, play electronic dance in the same vein as Curve or
the B-52\'s. Vocalists Laurel Snapper and April Lassiter, and programmer/guitarist Kevin 131 played together as Sorrow of Seven from 1991 to 1994, self-releasing an album each year: Red, Teal, Amber and an album of demos. The CCM trio then changed their name to Aleixa and released Honey Lake on the Flying Tart label in 1995; Disfigured followed in 1999. Kevin 131 has also worked with Deitiphobia and on the Sill project, with Evol Eye Jeni.
