Love At The Core [edit]
by Run Kid Run | Genre: Pop/Rock | Release Date: April 29, 2008

Hailing from the state of Illinois, Run Kid Run is a four-piece pop rock band with huge hooks, infectious melodies, and uplifting lyrics. After winning over thousands of people nationwide with their debut release, This Is Who We Are, Run Kid Run returned in 2008 with Love At The Core. Produced by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Further Seems Forever, New Found Glory), Love At The Core explores the idea that love binds all, the willing and the unwilling. While on the outside everyone has their own unique and defining characteristics, on the inside we are all linked with one ever-present commonality...the constant search for love.

The band explains, "With Love At The Core, we have set out to find what love really entails and the many different aspects therein. On this record we continuously return to the idea that in all situations the true CORE of love is God Himself, and the love that He provides daily on a personal level. We feel God's love is love's greatest definition! In the beginning, He created love by making us in His image, and we should reflect that image with everything we are, as lights unto this dark world!"

Not great, not terrible. | Posted April 28, 2008
Definitely one of the better powerpop/punkish bands out there. I'm not a huge fan but they aren't bad. This album is ok, not good but not bad. I like the songs Captives Come Home and the title track

Run Kid Run--Matured | Posted April 28, 2008
The songs still have that Run Kid Run sound to them, but they seem more complex than the first album. You can tell they have mature as artists. At the same time, by making the songs more complex, they lose a bit of their fun sound. Still good though.

Completely satisfied | Posted April 27, 2008
I was having some run kid run cravings for the longest time, especially after getting fat off their first album. I was only hoping this one would be as good as the first, that was my expectation. Well, it's not as good as the first, it's BETTER! I only listened to it once through, but I was completely satisfied. I really liked the fact that they chose to have some slow songs as well, the first album was just an adrenaline "beat feet" all the way through (great for snowboarding though). This is a very healthy album with much to digest, they did a great job, have a great message, and will soon be on my IPOD!!! =)

My only disappointment is that there's only ten songs, I always thought twelve was a good number. But no more complaining, all ten songs make up for it!

Great!!!!!! | Posted April 25, 2008
This one of the best albums I have ever heard.
If Tooth & Nail isn't already they need to run with this to the top.
It sounds like David, Neil, Matt, & Paul are making great choices.
Push this cd the top guys.
Its pure magic.
I can realy see God is in your music.
God Bless,
~Bird~

Surprisingly refreshing. | Posted April 25, 2008
I really enjoyed Run Kid Run's first album. It obviously had more of a pop/punk feel to it and it was slightly cliche and mediocre, but I still loved it. They got me on my feet, happily singing and dancing. That's something I definitely give them credit for with their freshman release. "Love At The Core", however, is a gigantic step up! I absolutely loved it from the moment their first single ("Captives Come Home") was released, I was amazed. Now the more I hear, the more I love. They are so much more mature, but still give me the great feeling they gave me before. While many bands fail with their second attempt at a successful album, I believe whole-heartedly that Run Kid Run had done something fresh, new and different. Not only are they talented musicians, they are amazing men of God and they don't try to hide it. This is something that makes me proud to have seen them develop into the group they are today. Their music and lyrics have challenged me in my faith and helped be through a few rough spots in my life. They are truly inspiring and I cannot wait to see them in concert so I can't tell all of this to them in person.

ABOVE AND BEYOND! | Posted April 25, 2008
This album has definitely gone above and beyond all expectations i had for this CD! It truly is amazing. Definitely made up for the longer time it took for this cd to finally come out :) they have definitely "matured" there sound, or whatever you wanna call it. And have taken on a brilliant theme for the album - LOVE - that they definitely portray well I think. It all works on this CD!

BUY this CD on April 29th! Next Tuesday!

my favorite album of the year..by far. | Posted April 22, 2008
I remember first hearing about Run kid Run 2 years ago to this day. It was on my birthday that my friend decided we should go to a Hawk Nelson concert. Of course Run kid Run was there. Since then they have become my favorite band, having seen them 5 times in concert and to add to that their cd releasing on my birthday. Love at the Core is a HUGE step from This is Who we Are. I loved the first release but Love at the Core really shows how much Run kid Run has grown musically but also spiritually. Everytime i listen to any song from this album i feel like a proud mother who has seen them grow, especially from Side Walk Slam days. I am so stoked for more releases from Run kid Run. The best track so far, that i've listened to, has to be Love at the Core. It is an amazing song that is quite encouraging. Although i absolutely love every song on this album, none will compare to the amount of love i feel for the song Sing to Me. :]
