The Yearbook [edit]
by KJ-52 | Genre: Rap/Urban | Release Date: April 10, 2007

2006 Dove Award winner, KJ-52 is back and ready to kick some beats and blow us away with his slammin' lyrics. With his new album, The Yearbook, expect a style that you have grown to love, but also be expecting a little more diversity.

"When I think of a yearbook I think of it as a snapshot of what has happened in my life for the last year: the pictures, the friends, the situations or the circumstances that have effected my life for that moment in time, comments KJ. As I began to work on this album from a musical and an artistic standpoint, I found myself going back through the last year and drawing from the experiences that I dealt with and using that as the foundation to write this new lp."

The album still has the fun, goofy party aspects that people love and expect from a KJ record but also addresses many serious issues that people face on a daily basis.

"I can honestly say that it's my finest work to date. My prayer is that the listener will feel the same."

This special edition album includes all his videos (KJ, Behind The Musik, Life After Death, I Can Call On You, and Revenge of the Nerds), photos, live footage, exclusive interview and more.

Daddy's Girl | Posted August 12, 2009
Daddy's Girl happens to be my favorite KJ-52 song! Everything about this song is so encouraging! I love how he raps about a real girl that is struggling in life and gives her encouragement through Christ's love. Everytime i hear this song...i want to tell all my friends about it! My mom even likes the message this songs bring to young girls...even though she is not a very big Rap/Hip-Hop fan!

I love it... the energy, the passion, the words. They are captivating, they are so fantastic. Would love to see them preform this album live. Mind Blowing!

i got this album a while back from swaptree.com. someone else said that this is a more mature album than the ones that kj came out with previously. i agree. but i also like this album more than his earlier albums. i think that he has a great message.

Ehhhh... | Posted November 08, 2007
I wasn't too overly excited about this cd. I am not an amazing fan of hip hop and rap but I like it pretty well, but I did not care for this cd one bit. The good thing is that I borrowed it from a friend, thank goodness I did't spend my money on it. However, this is just my opinion; if you like rap music then you will probably love this cd.

Sweet album | Posted September 26, 2007
Another solid album from the premeire Christain White rapper today. The beats are good the tunes are very catchy and he has several songs with heart-felt lyrics. "Wake-up" Ft. Toby from emery, has a rock core that is very awesome. The one thing that the album is missing is an "instant classic" (yes I am aware that is cliche). But what I am taling about is a song like "47 emcees" or "Viedo games". The closest song on "Yearbook" is "Say what you want" where KJ is rap battling a copycat rapper, one he refers to as "KJ-53". So despite the abscense of that, it is an excellent CD, well worth the price of puchase.

KJ produced this himself and makes it clear that he put more into this album than he ever has before. Lyrically and musically, it's his most mature album yet. He hits some very serious issues, blatantly praises God, and of course mixes in the silly songs that have brought him success. There is no stupid filler stuff (nonmusic). There is of course some mediocre songs the album could have done without, but with 19 songs, you can't go wrong. Couple songs that rock with guests from Disciple and Emery, both very good.
