Curb | Word Entertainment band Big Daddy Weave leads their forthcoming album with hope-affirming anthem "Heaven Changes Everything."
"I was at an all-time low after losing my father, my mother, and then my brother Jay, who played bass in Big Daddy Weave," shares Big Daddy Weave front man Mike Weaver. "Then the thought came to me, 'What is it like for someone who doesn't know about heaven?' Because we have the hope of heaven, and because Jesus said heaven is right here inside of our hearts, it changes everything about the way we see life now and the way we see life in the future. I love that when I think about heaven, everything shifts and is put into perspective. I'm so thankful that heaven changes everything."

The Hope of Heaven| Posted March 10, 2023 What You Need to Know
"Heaven Changes Everything" is the follow-up to contemporary band Big Daddy Weave's radio hit collaboration with emerging worship artist Katy Nichole, "God Is In This Story," and is the lead single from their upcoming album. The song was inspired as lead singer Mike Weaver pondered eternity after facing the loss of his parents and his brother, Jay Weaver, the bassist in the band.
What It Sounds Like
"Heaven Changes Everything" is the quintessential pop meets adult contemporary sound. This song is midtempo but joyful and high-energy, as a song about the hope of heaven should be. Mike Weaver's vocal performance adds to the mix--you can hear the joy and hope in his voice as he delivers these poignant lyrics. He's singing the truth that has really impacted him in a deep and personal way.
This song celebrates the comfort and purpose that comes with the hope of eternity, especially during life's challenges. It emphasizes the importance of holding onto this hope as a source of strength and perseverance. What I love about this song is that it's packed with theology while being accessible and fun at the same time. When these lyrics get stuck in your head, God's truth is also in your heart. It's clear the writers drew inspiration from passages like Romans 5:3-5, Romans 8:18-40, John 14:3, and Revelation 21:1-7.
"These tears would just be tears fallin' down my face/And this hurt would just be hurt with no healing on the way/Thank You, Jesus, Heaven changes everything/ A goodbye would be goodbye with no "I'll see you again"/And when a life is over, that would simply be the end/Thank You, Jesus, Heaven changes everything"
"Heaven Changes Everything" is one of Big Daddy Weave's best. Whether you need to be reminded what the Bible says about heaven, or you're looking for a song to anchor you as you walk through a tough time, this one's for you.
