Okay, so personally I thought Wednesday night was a weak opening lineup for Creation. I only liked one of the artists lined up to open. Hawk Nelson came out and started the show off with Audio Adrenaline's Clap Your Hands. They pulled it off really well. Their entire set was awesome! Except the guy they pulled onstage to do a kazoo duet (kazouet as they called it)could not figure out how to play the thing so we all got a good laugh off of that one. After that, I headed back to camp to save my energy for the whole time, I learned well from last year. The other bands that night included Superchick, Jars of Clay, and Relient K. I used to like Superchick until I saw them at Creation last year where all they talked about in between was that they had a new contract with Sony I think it was and that they were working on an album, yada yada yada. I like Jars of Clay, but not in concert. And as for Relient K, I just don't like them. I have never been a listener to their music, so before seeing them last year, I was willing to give them a chance. Probably never again though. Along the same lines as Superchick it was all about them, their band, their new CD and their song on the Chronicles of Narnia. They said nothing about God, or what He was doing in their lives or through them, which close to 90% of the rest of the bands spent at least 4-5 minutes of their set talking about. All in all a pretty weak opening night this year, but it gets better.
I'm heading out early tomorrow morning for Creation Fest West 2007. Last year was my first year and was a blast, and I'm expecting a lot of the same for this year. I probably won't be back on for another week, so you all have a good one.
