DJ Official (Nelson Chu) passed away August 14 following complications rising from a double lung transplant. The legendary 39-year-old DJ is mourned by his wife and two daughters as well as countless fellow artists and fans.
DJ Official has been battling cancer for years, sharing the often difficult and painful journey honestly through his twitter account. The artist went in for double lung transplant July 30, but complications quickly landed him in the ICU. News broke two weeks later that he had passed away.

Lecrae, who shared the stage with DJ Official many times over the course of his juggernaut career, shared
a poignant quote and added his own caption: "I know you deejaying on the other side. See you soon." Lecrae also shared some memories illustrating his friend's character. "When I wanted to complain @djofficialdj put it in perspective cause he battled so much and fought so hard," the artist shared.
