Will's music is a hybrid of simple catchy, rockish/contemporary gospel melodies, and as he states "something that gets the heart beating." His lyrics come from many areas, William hints, but the common thread laced through them all are his conversations/prayers spoken to God from day today, just with a tune tagged to them. Overcoming many struggles, many of which are shared by his generation and the ones following, Will has made it his business to encourage people to show God the hard stuff. Show Him the things that we feel are too messy for Him to want us. Things such as secret sins, identity issues, lust...anger...etc.
Most people think that these are to be hidden from God, but no, His presence is the best place to let them go in. As you release, the more broken you become. Which is a good thing, says William as he tries to hide the smile from his face. The bible promises, and GUARANTEES that the one thing God will not despise or turn away from is a BROKENSPIRIT (Psalm 51:17). That revelation and simple truth, is the foundation for Will Morris' Debut iWin/Love Cry EP. Energetic and Confident worship leaders are great, but OH watch out for the broken one. Mixing confidence with genuine brokenness is a recipe for God to move. Ask David! Trials in life will definitely get you to brokenness, but when God is leading you...molding you...crushing you...instructing you...you can't lose, YOU WIN!!!
The 2013 single iWin, and it's hook that's the end of the story, has become the victory chant for worshippers & anyone who has been drawn in by its energetic yet simplistic verses. So much so, that the single has recently been recorded/released by Orlando's Own: Dove Award Winner LaRue Howard. Each opportunity that Will gets to lead God's people in song is an opportunity he doesn't take lightly. Not a stranger to the industry, Will Morris has shared the stage with William McDowell, recent Stellar Award Nominee Shana Wilson, David & Nicole Binion, Martha Munizzi, Anthony Evans (The Voice), Mali Music, Group 1 Crew, & Jason Upton to name a few.
Fast forward to April 2016, Will had the pleasure of releasing his sophomore project, which happens to share the same name as his latest worship ballad entitled: Dwell. Dwell captures the cry of a believer and even those who don't even know it yet. It speaks to the private times of feeling thrown away, or unwanted, but yet Jesus still found himself in the equation. The songs use of the lyric "crevice," is intentional. It's a way to say: "God, I need you in the hidden/tight areas of my life, I can't reach them, but I know you can."
This young worship leader prides himself in this: Becoming a part of an atmosphere where all voices TRANSFORM into one LOUD one... becoming the God ECHO...is exhilarating. There's nothing like worshiping together with one united sound. I've been chartered to not only produce this sound but also cultivate it in my generation. He currently resides in Orlando, Fl. Outside of singing and leading worship at his church Joshua Generation, he is a graphic designer for various clientele that include churches, local, and national artists.
