Real name Joseph Pilime, born in Zimbabwe Harare, on the 21st of December 1991. Started rapping in 2008, recorded an album but failed to be completed due to his high school commitments( that time he wasn’t a Christian and he made music with no clear defined purporse) . In 2011, after receiving Jesus he changed his raping style and lyrics as most of his music to date is a reflection of faith he has in Jesus Christ. He describes his music as a need to the society and the world. The world is broken, and my mission is to repair part of it through music, I don’t do music for fun, when I am on a record its serious business, this is my life, this is why I am here ..said Pilime. After being converted, following his desire to change his life and his way of living, he recorded his first track as a Christian called DO IT FOR JESUS, the track was denied radio play because of poor quality. In February 2012 he recorded his next single Forgiveness’, to his surprise the song was loved at his church and churches around his neighbourhood . The song which talks about how Christ forgave him through the cross, gained him recongination as an artist, as the track was featured on Zimbabwe popular station ‘Power FM’.The following year, he collaborated with friend Nowizz and R 'N' B singer TaffyRue to release a hit single FAKE LOVE . The song was once number one on the Zimbabwean Christian radio station The Overdose. Fake love which was produced by xndr and simba tagz, received airplay on the Zimbabwe popular radio stations such as Power FM, radio zim, ZiFm. "Fake love is a record, probably one of my best track", said Pilime. After Fake love release, he was on Zifm radio interview following the success of the single. The same year he was signed by Shine bright for Christ which helped him with the release of Fake love video, but latter left the same year as he was persuring his carrer with The SWITCH.
In 2014 he released his mixtape CLOTHED IN CHRIST under the switch. "My mixtape is like an album, cause I took my time, worked with original beat, worked with professional guys like Xndr, but I named it a mixtape cause I was experimenting", said Pilime. Basically the mixtape was inspired by the love of Christ, despite the fact that I am not perfect, he still clothes himself in me and uses me for a greater purpose."I thank God, for 2014 because The SWITCH team and myself have been working towards decent entertainment and we won’t stop until the mission is done, we have been moving from city to city planning the right seed not poison", clarified pilime. His first studio Album(EX-Convict), will be released early 2015. According to the rapper, the album is big, now we not experimenting and I have collaborated with T-beats to make this a reality, the album talks about my struggles, what I went through and who I represent, that is Jesus Christ. My future plans are not centred, By God’s will The SWITCH team and myself will reach every corner of this world giving people hope. I don’t know when, but I know it’s going to happen.
My greatest inspiration is Jesus, and I have respect for artists who represent who they are, who are not ashamed to emphasize their faith in their art.
