Born at just 26 weeks gestation, by God’s sweet grace South African native Jeremy Ellis survived. There is no doubt that God had a plan to use this future singer/songwriter’s life. Through the experience of growing up in 5 different countries, Jeremy realized that there is no better way to unite the hearts of people than through the language of music. Jeremy is passionate about publishing God’s message of salvation and hope to all who will hear it.
Jeremy was asked to lead worship for the first time at 21 years of age for a small Bible study while he was attending college at San Diego State University. From there the Lord led him to a small Christian college where one of his teachers, Garrett Graupner, became his mentor. As Garrett officiated Jeremy’s wedding he heard Jeremy sing for the first time and instantly knew that Jeremy was his future worship leader. A year later Jeremy joined Garrett and a team of church planters in rural North Idaho. With hopes of the church growing to 250 people within the first two years, Jeremy was shocked to find that he was standing in front of a microphone holding his guitar, and looking out at crowd of 200 people gathered to worship. This was a far cry from a college Bible study!
At the 2nd anniversary celebration of the church, Brenton Brown and his band, The Worship Republic, came to lead worship for the event. This allowed Jeremy to cross paths with band member, Daniel Ornellas. As Jeremy grew in his passion to serve the church as a songwriter, he eventually recorded his first EP, Seen & Heard, with Daniel in November 2012.
His desire is that people truly see & hear Jesus through every song and lyric of his record. Jeremy is burdened with the realities of what breaks God’s own heart—the lost and the needy—and he has a vision to use music as a means to support both local and global missions. At 28-years-old Jeremy currently lives in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, with his wife Lauren, and his two sons, Jude and Harper. He is serving Jesus amongst the body of believers at Mountain Springs Church.
