Born the youngest son of pastors, in a rural southern Kentucky town, Jonathan Lemmon discovered his vocal gift and passion for writing music as a freshman in high school. It wasn’t until his college days at Murray State University that Jonathan began to feel God urging him toward a ministry in Christian music. In response to that call, he has been serving the Lord through music for nearly five years. His album “Mission Trip”, released in May of 2010, which can be found on iTunes, Amazon.com and other major online retailers, is his most impressive and powerful work so far. Music isn’t Jonathan’s only call; he also has a passion for helping children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses. In his day job, Jonathan provides programming for these children, which allows them to escape from their reality for a few moments and have the fun their heart desires. However, this too plays a vital role in the music side of his life. Jonathan says “God speaks to me through the lives that I have the privilege to encounter, and hopefully the songs that come from it will speak to someone else who might be going through the same thing.” Throughout the last few years, Jonathan has been featured in media all across his home state of Kentucky, including south central Kentucky’s ABC affiliate, WBKO 13. Most recently he was interviewed by Christian radio in Winston-Salem North Carolina. The DJ had great things to say about Jonathan’s music and career. He said, “Your good and I don’t have to say that”. While Jonathan laughed at the DJ’s comment, he was very appreciative of the positive feedback from such a seasoned individual in the radio industry. Jonathan’s album “Mission Trip” is a very personal and intimate record. In 2009, due to his Mothers fatal illness Jonathan was forced to cancel his plans for a yearlong mission obligation, however, he chose to use this experience to fulfill his desire to be a missionary. This album is his personal effort to encourage others to do the same no matter where they are in their own life. Jonathan said, “A mission trip isn’t just about getting on a plane and flying to a foreign country. While that’s amazing, it’s not what it’s all about. A mission trip can be as simple as walking to the end of your drive way and telling someone else about the love of Jesus Christ.” For booking and other information about Jonathan Lemmon, please visit; www.jonathanlemmon.com or www.myspace.com/jonathanlemmon.
