A 13 Yr. old girl picked up a guitar in Louisville, Colorado - She picked it up out of sheer desperation for a friend, and her lonely heart began to cry out for the comfort of the living God. Words and melodies poured from her soul to her Savior, and He did hear every word and saw every tear…
“I can’t help but hear Romans 8:28 echo throughout my history, ‘And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.’ I went through such a hard time when my family first moved to Colorado, and as I was going through it I wanted more than anything to be ‘out of the furnace’ so to speak… But now looking back I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I treasure that time as a point when I drew near to God, and He in turn drew near to me…”
Lindsy Morton began leading worship at the age of 14; she stepped into the position after hearing about the need in her church. Her nervous fingers moved with stiffness, her young voice was reluctant to hold on to each note, but her God was faithful to inhabit every word. The Spirit of God began to fan the flame of passion in her heart that burned for Jesus, and Lindsy began to realize that music was her God given way of showing a hurting world the love of Christ.
So, sometimes dragging her feet, and sometimes running with ease, Lindsy has continued to walk the road that her God has paved before her. She has been singing and playing guitar full time for 3 years now...
“It’s amazing how we can just see the fingerprints of God in our lives… He has been molding and shaping me from the very beginning of my life. I mean, who would ask a 14 yr old to be the worship leader of a church? That was so God, and I was so inadequate… but just as Paul told Timothy, ‘I thank Christ Jesus my Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry… and the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant…’ It’s all because of God’s amazing grace! I am nobody, but Christ in me is the hope of glory…”
Her willingness to serve Christ has lead her on a journey that has brought her to where she sits today… singing at the feet of Jesus. Lindsy has shared a stage with names like Ginny Owens and Fernando Ortega, and her songs are now being played on the radio in the Denver Metro area. She is preparing to make her third CD, and says it will be a worship CD… from her heart to God’s.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…”

That is what I am. I am blessed to be able to hear Lindsy sing at my church on a regular basis. She is really blossoming as an artist and as a song writer. I pray the Lord bless her greatly, as he has blessed we who listen to her praise Him.
